Since 1994, the team at Sion Power has been dedicated to the development the next break through in high energy rechargeable batteries. Lithium sulfur was the chosen chemistry.

While this battery couple had been worked on for over 40 years, in 2002, SION succeeded in realizing the energy potential that was available from this chemistry. We achieved 250 Wh/Kg and over 300 full depth of discharge cycles. By 2004, the team had succeeded in reaching over 350 WH/Kg. Unlike other battery chemistries, the limits of this technology are far from being realized. SION Power Li-S cells that exceed 600 Wh/Kg are in the foreseeable future.
